Bio

Matt Agnello

Matt Agnello is an aspiring game designer. He earned a BS in Film and Television Production from Boston University. As a Game Designer, Matt uses his artistic and technical understanding of cinema to aid his designs, often using visual effects and editing software to prototype. He also draws on a wide array of skills, from graphic design to programming, to contribute meaningfully to the projects he works on.

He has worked in network television production and post-production for the last four years. In 2009, he edited an award-winning book trailer for Random House’s Book Video Awards. In 2010, he crafted another book trailer, which was aired on national TV. His other video editing work includes promotional material for academic and business groups.

Matt has been an avid gamer since he could competently grasp a controller. In high school, he added several levels to and eventually rewrote a TI-83 calculator RPG, and he has enjoyed plumbing the depths of game design ever since. Although he has always enjoyed game design as a hobby, Matt never considered games as a career until his first Game Developer Conference in 2010.

After attending GDC 2010, he realized his passion for games as a creative medium and dove head first into learning the craft of game design. Since then, he has worked hard to become a contributing member of the game development community by learning in public on his blog Hungry Gamer, volunteering at GDC as a Conference Associate, and practicing game design as a Starcraft II modder.
